URBAN IMPACT RECYCLING MAKES CHARITABLE IMPACT
Richmond, BC, March 11th, 2005 – The family-owned and operated Urban Impact Recycling Ltd. is offering free recycling services to qualified non-profit and registered charitable organizations in the communities it serves.

“It is important to us to provide this much-needed free service to local charities to support them and help them deal with the recyclables their offices produce, thus reducing their expenses and helping the environment,” said Nicole Stefenelli, President of the 16 year old company she founded as her University thesis in 1989. “Free recycling for non-profit and charitable organizations is part of our on-going commitment to corporate social responsibility,” explained Stefenelli. “We're putting our money and our heart where our mouth is,” she said.

Included in the free service are all recyclable materials generated by the charity, such as office paper collection (including all office paper, newsprint and magazines) and bulk cardboard service for those charities who go through a great deal of cardboard. Urban Impact will provide each charity with free recycling up to a monthly value of $75.
“For the majority of charities this amount more than covers their monthly recycling needs,” said Stefenelli.

A Loving Spoonful was one of the first charitable organizations to take Stefenelli up on her company's offer. Sue Moen, Executive Director, explained that A Loving Spoonful operates under the mission statement that no one living with AIDS should live with hunger. “When an agency doesn't have to spend money on operating costs, the expense budget line is decreased and monies saved can instead translate into direct services. For A Loving Spoonful this means we can purchase additional meals for men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS,” said Moen.

Those registered charities and not-for-profit organizations wishing to receive the free service, are encouraged to visit Urban Impact's website http://www.urbanimpact.com/CSR/charitableGP.html and to complete the on-line application form prior to the end of March, 2005.

Operating 10 commercial trucks in all areas of the Lower Mainland, Urban Impact Recycling Limited, through its existing 2,500 pick-up locations, redirected over 20,000 metric tonnes from local landfills in 2004. Urban Impact Recycling is a Richmond based, family owned recycling company whose market niche is exceptional customer service.
